About the event
Join us to honor stewards of the land—Indigenous leaders and wisdom keepers from communities spanning the globe—as they gather to celebrate Earth Day on April 25th at 2pm at Socrates Park in Astoria, Queens.
Awakening Territory is a Sacred Gathering of Indigenous Wisdom dedicated to awakening and revitalizing territories where we coexist in harmony, unlocking ancient knowledge and ancestral teachings to guide us through these challenging times.
Meet the Council:
Seeking the wisdom of Mahicannittuk, the sacred river flowing in both directions, whose ancient knowledge supports our efforts to restore natural balance amid the global climate crisis. We gather in the power of the circle—to continue receiving the wisdom these ancient alliances have passed down to us. "To wipe our tears, clear our ears, and open our throats."
