Iskukua is a visionary young leader and musician who shapes the future by learning from the past. Having been initiated into the highest spiritual practices of the Yawanawa tradition, Iskukua represents the future of the Yawanawa nation.
As a devoted leader and representative for his people and the indigenous movement in Brazil, he frequently travels to Europe and the United States to share his people's forest, culture, and spirituality. He has spoken to presidents and world leaders at the United Nations, UNESCO, and the Interfaith Rainforest Initiative. His focus areas include traditional indigenous education, language revitalization, cultural preservation, as well as sustainable energy and agriculture.
Visit our gallery space to view the "Pacha Mama de la Selva" exhibition. This Shipibo Art Exhibition features luminescence paintings at the Ofrenda Gallery. It runs from April 13th to June 30th.
